#Film Brand new trailer for Pressure. 4K Restoration in UK/Ireland cinemas 3 November | BFI
Originally funded by the BFI Production Board and heralded as the first full-length Black British film, Horace Ové’s masterpiece Pressure has been newly restored by the BFI National Archive and The Film Foundation,
The new trailer is released ahead of Pressure’s joint restoration World Premiere on 11 October at the BFI London Film Festival and at the New York Film Festival.
Made in 1975 and a groundbreaking and authentic exploration of the anxieties of an emerging second-generation of West Indians in Britain, Pressure remains as relevant now, almost 50 years on, as it ever was.
The new trailer was edited by Damla Duru, the winner of BFI and Intermission Film’s recent competition to find and develop emerging editing talent.
BFI are honouring the life and work of Sir Horace Ové this Autumn - an opportunity to remember and celebrate Sir Horace Ové the man, his unique cinematic vision and enduring legacy with a programme of screenings and discussion events bringing together those who knew and, worked with Horace and creatives who have been influenced by him.
